So, for those of you who so happen to stumble across this site and wonder who the heck is Ben Eskew...well, here it goes.
My name is Ben, I live in Southern California and am currently an amateur web developer (I have to say amateur because of the lack of credentials at the moment...unlike most of the liars out there!) and a computer science student part-time. I am also pursuing a minor in oceanography. I have been creating web projects professionally since 2004 but have been generally programming with computers (I have programmed using other...things) since 1995.
For the past few years my main developments have been involved in creating custom web content management systems for travel-based web sites using PHP, MySQL, JavaScript, CSS, XHTML, and XML. My most recent noteworthy development is QueryVegas.com, which is a travel-based web site focused on the Las Vegas area. The entire system is in beta (more like a prototype at the moment) and of course doesn't look to pretty...at all. But looks aren't everything! The basic functionality of the business listings is right on par with the "big boys", the actual security and stability of the software/system is amazing compared to some of my older systems I've developed over the years, and the general User system I've been working on will start turning heads in just a few more months of development time.
Currently, I'm gainfully employed in the field of retail marketing and development, and not seeking employment beyond part-time web development contracts. I sincerely thank you for your interest and urge you to contact me if you have any questions or feedback.
